Youth Engagement

T-TEL supports the Ministry of Education and its agencies to ensure young people sit at the centre of education reform and ensure their voices are heard. T-TEL supported the establishment of a Youth Advisory Board in 2024, giving young people a direct channel into conversations on education policy. T-TEL strengthened this by building close collaboration with the National Union of Ghana Students, which represents over 12.5 million Ghanaian students, so the Board's input reflects a broader student voice across the country.

One of the collective outcomes is the Essential Values for Ghanaian Youth handbook. Written by young people themselves, the handbook supports young people to internalise values such as honesty, integrity, discipline and self-directed learning. This handbook has now been rolled out by GES to all 721 Senior High Schools and Senior High Technical Schools in Ghana, reaching 1.4 million learners.
